Realogic CEO Jim Pettinger Inducted into The Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Realogic CEO Jim Pettinger for his recent induction into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Pettinger was officially enshrined this week as a member of the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024.
Midwest Real Estate News, the popular and well-respected commercial real estate publication that administers the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, evaluates nominees and selects the hall’s members, announced all the members of the Class of 2024 and ran profiles on them in its Winter 2025 issue.
High-achieving commercial real estate leaders based in the Midwest are selected for the Hall of Fame based on their leadership abilities, career achievements, contributions to and support of the industry and their involvement in their local community. Admission into the Hall of Fame is a distinguished honor. Since it was founded in 2010, only 951 individuals have been inducted. There are only 50 members of the Class of 2024, including Jim.
As anyone who has ever worked with Pettinger over the course of his storied 32-year career in commercial real estate can attest, his enshrinement is well-deserved.
“I was extremely honored and humbled to be inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame”, said Pettinger. “It’s one of the biggest honors of my career. It wouldn’t have been possible if not for the many smart, skilled, dedicated people I’ve had the pleasure of working with at Realogic through the years. Being surrounded by so many talented, experienced, knowledgeable people every day has made my job easy and a joy. So much of Realogic’s success and my individual success is due to them.”
Pettinger began his career in commercial real estate in 1993 when he joined Realogic as the then fledgling company’s third employee. Over the ensuing years, as company COO and since 2019 CEO, he helped grow the company into one of the commercial real estate industry’s most reputable and sought-after consulting and advisory firms, with a burgeoning list of clients ranging from small property owners and investors to many of the largest, most recognized names in real estate.
As Realogic’s CEO, Pettinger oversees our company’s day-to-day operations, helps set our long and short-term objectives and plays a crucial role in all strategic initiatives. In addition, he is responsible for developing, implementing and refining internal processes that ensure all of Realogic’s assignments are completed on time, within budget and meticulously. Jim is also responsible for researching, purchasing and implementing new technology that allows us to work more quickly, efficiently and accurately on behalf of our clients.
A hands-on and accessible leader who takes great pride in the quality of Realogic’s work, Jim doesn’t hesitate to roll up his sleeves and help out with our consulting assignments, whether it’s financial modeling, underwriting, due diligence, lease abstraction, preparing estoppels, providing closing support or any of the other commercial real estate services Realogic offers.
In addition, Jim regularly writes posts for the Realogic Blog. He has a particular affinity for financial modeling and has written several posts on Argus Enterprise best practices, including modeling Market Rent Inflation and General Vacancy, as well as posts on integrating historical and forecast data into financial models and how to dramatically improve your financial models for commercial real estate.
